Where to sit: the baseline, at the end they attack

Sit low and close to the hoop your kid is running at, and the play comes toward you.

How to shoot it
  1. Step 1

Sit at the end they attack

Shoot toward the hoop your kid is attacking, so you get faces, not backs. The front row of the bleachers near the baseline is the spot. Stay in the seats, never on the floor under the hoop: players land there at full speed.

  2. Step 2

Gym light is dim, so help the phone

Phones blur in a gym. Hold burst through the move and the sharp frame is in there. Use the 2x or 3x button if your phone has one, but don’t pinch to zoom past it: the photo turns grainy.

  3. Step 3

Lock on a player, not the windows

A bright window or scoreboard makes the phone darken everyone. Tap your player, hold until the lock appears, then shoot. Keep the flash off: it won’t reach the court.
