How to shoot it
  1. Step 1

Plain background, even light, chest height

A wall, a hedge, an empty stand. Not a parking lot, not a crowded bench. Hold the phone at their chest so the uniform reads square. Open shade beats noon sun, which puts shadows under the eyes.

  2. Step 2

    Leave space around them

Roster cards and team posters need room to crop on every side. Don’t crop tight when you shoot. Choose Full Quality when you add it, because this is the one that gets printed.

  3. Step 3

Take three: hero, game face, the real grin

One serious, arms crossed. One competitive. One with the grin they actually have. If they play in a helmet, take one with it on and one with it under the arm. The grin is the one you’ll frame.

Pro tip
