SIDELINE SCHOOL
Where to stand: level with the goal they attack
Most lacrosse happens around the goal. Stand level with it, on the side your kid attacks.
How to shoot it
- Step 1
Pick your spot from their position
Attack: level with the goal they attack. Midfield: the middle, slightly toward their attacking end. Defense and goalie: the end they defend. Stay on the side, and never stand behind a goal unless there’s netting: missed shots go there, fast.
- Step 2
Shoot the face through the helmet
From the side, a helmet hides the face. Stand where they run toward you, and the eyes show through the cage.
- Step 3
Keep the sun behind you
Spring games mean low afternoon sun. Stand with it behind you so it lights their faces.
Pro tip
Stand level with the goal they attack. Move at half-time.
