Action: the hands and the breath
The solo, the hands on the keys or strings, the breath before the note, the final chord.
How to shoot it
- Step 1
The hands are the shot
Fingers on keys, on strings, on valves. Get as close as the hall allows, or shoot it at the rehearsal, and fill the frame.
- Step 2
Wait for the big moment
Every piece has one: the solo, the last chord, the bow lifted off the strings. Know when it comes and be framed before it does.
- Step 3
Silent and still
Put the phone on silent so the shutter doesn’t click, and keep the flash off. A click in a quiet bar is heard by everyone, your player included.
